Dave Knows: Elko

According to the Elko Daily Free Press, an Elko man recently stole 5 of those car-top Pizza hut signs, the ones the delivery drivers use.  This criminal mastermind decided to hold them for ransom: 

Jess Jay Long, 23, a former Pizza Hut employee, allegedly called the manager of the restaurant and said he had five signs and would only return them if he was sent $500, the Elko Police Department reported.

The manager asked how he could be sure Long had the signs and was sent a cell phone picture, the police department said. The manager then called the police department and officers were able to zoom in on license plate numbers of two vehicles registered to Long.

That’s some fine police work there, Lou.

Maybe for his next trick this genius will steal some T-shirts from Wal-Mart and send them pictures of himself wearing them.
