Billy Madison would be proud.  It’s school time again in Elko.  But doesn’t August 18th seem a little early?

According to the Elko Daily Free Press:

The first day creeped up a little earlier this year, as the third Monday of August fell three days earlier than last year. The school board began a policy last year to start on the third Monday.

Nevertheless, the number of school days essentially works out the same. The last day of school is May 29.

I think school should never start before my birthday, which is August 21st.  In fact, if it was up to me, school wouldn’t start until the Tuesday after Labor Day!  I don’t care if the last day isn’t until June 15th, summer usually hasn’t started by then anyway.  

Oh well, I’m just happy the boys are at school now and not home fighting with each other.  I think the wife likes it too.
